CAMPAT Machine Tool, Inc. Introduces Redesigned Leadwell V-40 and V-50i VMC’s

Plano, TX – CAMPAT Machine Tool, Inc. has introduced the freshly redesigned Leadwell V-40 and V-50i vertical machining centers for the West Coast market. The Leadwell V-40/V-50i VMC’s, are a ground-up redesign of a time-tested Leadwell model line, said the company.

Inspired by CAMPAT’s President Joe Tomalonis, this update was specifically designed for the US marketplace for the requirements of today’s manufacturers. “We have special needs in the North American precision metal-cutting market, and Leadwell management has done an exceptional job building just what we need. It’s a high-quality, American-specified product that has many value-added features that we can offer our customer base with no additional cost,” said Tomalonis.

Leadwell used top quality, well-ribbed construction, and with an additional 2,000 lbs. added to the base casting over the old design. The new V-40/50i is strong and ruggedly constructed for stability and machining accuracy. Along with the enhanced base is a larger column featuring a heavier bottom section for increased stability and rigidity. The increased weight and size of the cast iron base, column and tables, result in superior cutting performance. The V-40 and V-50i are engineered and built for increased speed, precision and enhanced productivity.

The new V series machines employ Schneeberger Cross Roller type linear guide ways on all axes and feature zero clearance and fully-loaded carrying capacity in all directions. The rigid base and column work in concert with these guides to provide stability for precision heavy material removal and work piece accuracy. All Leadwell machines leave the factory only after a ball bar test system checks accuracy and machine geometry. “They are affordable, flexible and feature exceptional quality and high-efficiency.” said Tomalonis.

The V-40/50i machines utilize Cartridge type 10,000 RPM or 12,000 RPM, spindles that with a Fanuc Motor produce 30 HP for high torque machining, helping to ensure consistent clean cuts. An optional 15,000 RPM spindle is also offered. Coolant through spindle preparation is standard on each machine and features #40 taper BT or CT spindles. These one-piece cartridge type spindles are built with high precision ceramic hybrid bearings and ensure precise alignment for smooth run-out free operation. All Leadwell products are standardized with FANUC controls and the V Series features the new FANUC Oi-MD as standard, the 18i series is offered as an option.

The V series VMC’s also incorporate a standard 24 tool arm type ATC with an option for 30 tools.
